When Matthews town decided to give us access to a second location, it was like all our Christmas’s had come at once. The Fullwood field location is old farm house in Matthews, NC with two fields. One field is around 40 open acres and a second field to the side is maybe a third the size. The size of the location provides the opportunity to setup a great selection of racing and practice courses to suite everyone from the racing beginner to the autonomous long range video platform flyers. No matter what type of drone your flying, the Matthew FPV Racers club has a place for everyone to fly.
Yesterday, Saturday February 28th was the first official day the Matthews FPV Racers have help a practice event at Fullwood field and the turn out was great. Around 25 people turned up to the practice in the cold weather.
Unfortunately, it was my girls birthdays yesterday so I wasn’t able to attend and take any photos but I’ll be sure to check with the guys and see if anyone else took some I can get hold of and update this article.
If you’re interested in participating, be sure to check out the meetup page, join the club section and start chatting with local Drone flyers in the Charlotte area. Meetups are normally planned for every Sunday afternoon at 3pm. This weekends meet was changed to Saturday due to weather forecasts calling for rain all day Sunday.
